Farley 2023

by Jason Beers

about

A new take on my Farley song. I played it out live like this recently, including a new bridge, and quite enjoyed it. Thought it deserved a new recording.

lyrics

Farley

Farley, how’d I end up in Farley?
My life took a wrong turn, sometime in ‘83
Farley, yes, there is hardly
Nowhere else on this earth that I would rather not be

I’m a witness protected
And I objected
When the feds, they made this my home
No more big city living
for this hapless stool pigeon
oh Farley, my life is on loan

CHORUS

I’ve got some new friends
And some new hobbies, too
I make the best home-made soap
At $5 a bar, it puts gas in my car
I drive as far as the end of my rope

CHORUS

I partied and I pillaged
Now I’m the idiot of the village
I live life without nary a care
I’ve been trapped here for years
And I stay out of fear
I’m thinking of running for Mayor

CHORUS

Farley, how’d I end up in Farley?
My life took a wrong turn, sometime in ‘83
Farley, at least it's not Kearney
Nowhere else on this earth that I would rather not be
