about

Oh yes, the old "odds and sods" album. The dumping ground for a bunch of oddball songs that never made it on an album.: a traditional cowboy song that I patterned off of Dick Curless's version, some reworked songs from another one of my albums, a sea shanty that I got from a Jimmy Driftwood album, a moody surf guitar piece, an organ instrumental in which I was trying out some "squabbling", a fiREHOSE cover, an oddball banjo tune, some fingerpicking acoustic guitar, an ambient synth piece, and a one chord vamp. It's kind of a peek into my process of seeing what will stick to the wall and if I'm inspired to do more of the same for an album. Sometimes it doesn't work, but the tunes are still just fine with me. They just don't fit anywhere else.

Special thanks to Rick Johnson for the title and hilarious conversation.
