about

The Immortal Jumbo “Puny” O’Dainty:

In 1959, Jumbo Puny O’Dainty was riding the wave of fame and fortune due to his massive output on various record labels, the best sellers (of course) landing on Quilt Records. A steady stream of people were in and out of his entourage, a three-bedroom house in rural Wisconsin with a brand new Cadillac parked in the driveway. The neighbors could not keep up with the names of his latest women friends and/or wives that would be around for a month or so, always partying well in the morning hours. They could often hear the tinkling of a barrelhouse piano emanating from his domicile and boisterous laughter in-between songs. Life was good for Mr. O’Dainty.
He recorded this album and it was released by Quilt Records the day before his death at McGonigle’s Happy Times Pub. Impaled by a pool cue during a brutal fight that broke out during his first song of the night, the whole Quilt Records community was devastated at the senseless violence at the Happy Times Pub. It was rumored that a huge bouquet of flowers that was delivered to Quilt Records signed by Elvis Presley AND President Eisenhower.
Sit back and enjoy the last record Mr. O’Dainty recorded. He will always be immortal to us at Quilt Records.
