Retrouvaille

by Jason Beers

supported by
Hank Tilbury
Hank Tilbury thumbnail
Hank Tilbury Self-taught on banjo, Jason Beers plays like no one else I've ever heard. I hope he never takes lessons. He has built his own unique musical world, and it shines on Retrouvaille, a song cycle about falling in love and, umm, some of the other stuff that comes along with it. The songs are catchy and driving and the instrumentals are often sweetly melodic with some dissonance and odd progressions expertly blended in. As a whole, and in its individual parts, this is a fine piece of work.
