about

In 1977, Mrs. Helen Marf and the Bean Jazz band recorded music for a photography installation for the Fresno Arts Foundation. The photographs were all centered around objects in decay and ruin (fallen trees and structures, rotten fruit, rusty train trestles, etc.). The exhibit was a hit and remained up for a year, attracting scores of visiters every day. Finally, the music that was played on a loop at an excruciatingly loud volume for the installation has been released for your home-listening pleasure.
The Bean Jazz band includes Mrs. Helen Marf on timpani, Ms. Golly Awkward on trap kit, Mr. Larry Trimpletskzyk-Klamph on bongos, Mr. Cecil Gooch on guitar, Trina "The Ghost" Freena on vibraphone, and Mr. Fred "Fredd" Goozer (brother of Quilt mainstay Hempal Goozer III) on bass.
