about

Luthor DeSchwick (seemingly mild-mannered clerk at Kleevo's Pharmacy in Hastings, NE) was discovered by Quilt Records president Clancy Snarrup while he was paying a visit to his lawyer, Rafe Maddenlorp, Esq.. Clancy noticed that the man who sold him some BC Powder and a few cigars earlier in the day was also playing the organ at the Kismet Theatre a few blocks away at night, in addition to the Nurt sisters on percussion. Eudora and Poppy Nurt lived next door to Luthor and rarely spoke to the other residents of Hastings. After a week of listening to Luthor every night of Snarrup's visit, he was offered a recording contract on Quilt Records, to be recorded at the Kismet Theatre. The album was recorded all in 2 hours. The next day, Luthor and the Nurt sisters joined a Satanic cult that was on the outskirts of town and were never heard from again. Snarrup tried for several months to find them. Decisions were made and the album was released in July of 1971. It was later discovered that Luthor had been clandestinely supplying pharmaceuticals to the local biker gang.
